Success in coaching youth baseball...
Five steps
1. Achieving success in baseball is a marathon not a sprint.
2. Use baseball to teach life to players...rather than baseball USING you and your family.
3. Baseball is their game not our retirement or college planning tool.
4. Lifelong experiences will be formed through baseball...It is up to us as parents and coaches to make those lasting memories GREAT ONES for the kids.
5. Planning, Passion and Perseverance are the keys to lifelong success...use baseball to teach them to your kids.
Blueprint for Baseball
by Brandon Smith
Take from my past to improve your future:
...I experienced burnout as a player in high school and during my professional career.
Blueprint for Baseball show parents, coaches and players fun baseball drills to keep the game EXCITING while improving your game or coaching.
...I see kids loose out on great experiences that baseball offers due to an over zealous parent or a misinformed coach
My Background
I have trained many players and consulted coaches and parents in my 18 years as a private baseball instructor.
Some may consider that I "arrived" by playing 6 years of professional baseball...Not at all.
Those experiences were great and fulfilled a childhood dream.
But there is a lot more to writing a baseball coaching book than just playing professional baseball or being a professional instructor.
I have dealt withand am currently navigating the difficult yet rewarding course of coaching my own kid.
I will show you ways to mitigate the common mistakes that dad/coaches fall into. Not only does my kid still like baseball he still likes me!!!
